Interim Head of Financial Planning & Analysis – Hull – Permanent
Salary: £60,000 – £70,000 (or competitive day rate considered)

This Interim Head of Financial Planning & Analysis role offers the chance to play a pivotal part in shaping financial sustainability, driving insight, enhancing reporting capability and influencing executive decision-making for a highly respected organisation.
We are partnering with a valued client seeking a senior finance professional to lead multiple specialist teams and oversee key financial planning, analysis and reporting processes. This role is perfect for someone who thrives in complex environments, enjoys transforming reporting frameworks and works confidently with senior leadership.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Leading financial reporting to senior leadership, committees and governing bodies
- Managing forecasting processes, including multi-year outturns and risk/volatility assessment
- Providing analysis of financial contributions across organisational areas
- Owning all reporting timetables for actuals, budgets, forecasts and long-term planning
- Managing modelling and reporting for strategic initiatives and capital investments
- Leading budgeting and forecasting cycles through Finance Business Partners and Analysts
- Driving the management reporting strategy, including the design of reporting solutions
- Optimising reporting tools and BI systems (e.g., Adaptive)
- Embedding continuous improvement across financial reporting processes
- Overseeing external reporting requirements, including statutory and regulatory returns
- Managing TRAC reporting and sector-specific returns
- Leading and developing teams across Business Partners, Analysts and Group Reporting
- Presenting financial insight and recommendations to senior stakeholders
- Building strong internal and external stakeholder relationships
- Supporting organisational strategy through robust financial insight, modelling and planning
What We’re Looking For
- Fully qualified accountant (CIPFA, CIMA, ACA, ACCA, ICAEW or equivalent)
- Significant senior-level experience in financial planning, reporting and analysis
- Strong leadership background with experience managing multi-disciplinary finance teams
- Proven ability to influence Executive and Board-level stakeholders
- Experience in budgeting, forecasting and long-term financial planning
- Strong understanding of financial controls, regulatory reporting and governance
- Able to interpret complex data, identify trends and communicate insights clearly
- Highly organised, strategic and proactive with excellent problem-solving skills
- Skilled in financial systems, reporting tools and Excel
- Experience within large, complex or regulated environments highly desirable
