Are you an experienced transactional finance professional looking for a role where you can lead, influence and drive high-quality financial operations? Our client, a successful and fast-growing organisation, is seeking a Finance Manager to oversee all day-to-day financial processing activities while managing a team of approximately 5–6 people.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with strong AP, AR, cash management and compliance experience who thrives in a fast-paced, detail-driven environment. You will play a key part in safeguarding cash, maintaining robust controls, and ensuring accurate, timely processing across the group.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Overseeing supplier onboarding, invoice processing, approvals and weekly payment runs
- Ensuring AP ledger accuracy including reconciliations, aged payables and debit balance clearance
- Leading customer onboarding, credit checks, billing, disputes and collections activity
- Driving AR performance including DSO reduction, dunning cycles, and credit management
- Managing daily cash positioning, multi-currency bank reconciliations and payment file preparation
- Maintaining bank mandates, user access and segregation of duties
- Processing FX transactions, reconciliations, month-end revaluations and supporting hedge management
- Managing card receipts, chargebacks, direct debit runs and online payment gateways
- Overseeing intercompany recharges, settlements and documentation
- Supporting Payroll Manager with cross-cover when required
- Embedding and maintaining a strong financial control framework
- Ensuring UK VAT compliance, correct coding and support with returns and reconciliations
- Supporting internal/external audits with samples, narratives and remediation activities
- Delivering accurate month-end close packs including AP accruals, GRNI, AR cut-off and cash recs
- Owning and maintaining department policies, SOPs and GDPR-compliant data management
- Leading the operation of finance systems (Sage, Paperless and others)
- Driving automation and reducing manual journal reliance
- Leading, coaching and developing a high-performing transactional finance team (5–6 people)
- Working cross-functionally to ensure compliance, accuracy and problem prevention
- Developing and reporting on transactional finance KPIs to drive performance
What We’re Looking For
- Proven experience within financial processing and transactional finance
- Experience managing and developing a transactional finance team (ideally 5–6 staff)
- Strong knowledge across AP, AR/credit control, cash management and payments
- Experience with FX processing, reconciliations, and financial controls
- Solid understanding of VAT, tax compliance and UK regulatory frameworks
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- High levels of professionalism, integrity and discretion
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
