Are you a passionate and engaging primary teacher looking for a rewarding role within a beautiful, intimate school setting? This Year 1 Class Teacher position offers the chance to join a warm and welcoming environment where you'll be teaching a small class of 13 pupils, supported by a friendly and collaborative team. We are partnering with one of Carrington Wood's valued clients in East Devon who are seeking a confident and nurturing practitioner to provide full classroom teaching and support throughout the week. This is a wonderful opportunity to make a meaningful impact in a setting known for its caring ethos.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Delivering engaging and high-quality teaching to a Year 1 class of 13 children
- Planning, preparing and delivering lessons in line with the KS1 curriculum
- Creating a supportive, inspiring and safe classroom environment
- Leading two after‑school clubs (Lego on Wednesday / Colouring on Thursday)
- Working collaboratively with the wider team to uphold the school's values
- Ensuring a positive learning experience for all pupils
Working Hours
- Monday: 8am - 4pm
- Tuesday: 8am - 4pm
- Wednesday: 8am - 5pm (includes Lego club)
- Thursday: 8am - 5pm (includes colouring club)
- Friday: 8am - 4pm
Breaks
- 30 minutes paid lunch with students
- 30 minutes unpaid lunch break
What We’re Looking For
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Experience within KS1 or Early Years
- A warm, engaging and enthusiastic teaching style
- Excellent classroom management and organisational skills
- Someone reliable, committed and eager to contribute to a close-knit school community
