Accounts Assistant (Accounts Payable) – Plymouth – Permanent
Salary: Up to £28,000 depending on experience
Location: Plymouth – Office-based

Carrington Wood has been asked to support with the appointment of an Accounts Assistant (Accounts Payable) for a fast-expanding organisation. You’ll join a collaborative finance team during an exciting period of expansion, supporting multiple company ledgers.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Accurately processing supplier and subcontractor invoices, ensuring correct coding, VAT and CIS
- Managing supplier and subcontractor ledgers across a group of companies
- Reconciling supplier statements and maintaining accurate financial records
- Coordinating invoice approvals with project managers and department heads
- Preparing supplier payments for authorisation and maintaining positive supplier relationships
- Supporting audits with organised documentation and reconciliations
What We’re Looking For:
- Previous experience in an Accounts Assistant or Finance Assistant role, ideally with a focus in Accounts Payable or similar
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in processing and reconciliation
- Confident communicator, able to build positive supplier and internal relationships
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage workload effectively
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (particularly Excel) and accounting software
Desirable:
- Experience within construction, engineering, manufacturing or service-based organisations.
- AAT qualification
- Experience working in multi-company or group finance environments
