Carrington Wood is delighted to be supporting a leading professional services firm as they seek to appoint an Accounts Senior. This is a varied and rewarding role, offering exposure to a wide range of clients, with a particular focus on law firm accounting.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Preparing year-end statutory accounts and financial information for a diverse client base
- Producing management accounts, financial forecasts, and projections
- Completing personal, partnership, and company tax computations
- Preparing detailed analysis and commentary to accompany law firm accounts, including benchmarking insights
- Delivering bookkeeping services, including income/expenditure recording and bank reconciliations
- Preparing VAT returns and ensuring compliance across all submissions
- Monitoring job progress, staying on top of budgets and deadlines
- Identifying technical or client-specific issues and proposing practical solutions
- Assisting with audit and compliance-related tasks
- Liaising with clients to maintain strong, collaborative relationships
- Supporting and supervising junior team members, helping with coaching and workflow management
What We’re Looking For:
- AAT / ACCA / ACA qualified, part-qualified, or qualified by experience
- Previous accounting experience in a practice environment
- Confident using cloud accounting platforms and computer-based accounts/tax software
- Strong MS Excel, Word, and Outlook skills
- Experience working with law firm accounts and SAR compliance (desirable, but not essential, as training can be provided)
- Accurate, organised, and able to manage competing deadlines
- Strong communication skills and a proactive approach to client work
