Carrington Wood is proud to be supporting an established organisation in their search for a Head of Finance. This influential role offers breadth, autonomy, and the chance to play a key part in strengthening financial governance and long-term planning.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Leading the Financial Planning function, producing accurate long-term business plans and robust cashflow forecasts
- Managing the Treasury function, overseeing debt, security, compliance with funding agreements, and lender relationships
- Supporting senior finance leadership in securing appropriate funding for organisational needs
- Overseeing Tax Planning and ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and efficient tax strategies
- Ensuring timely and accurate completion of all regulatory financial returns
- Supporting the development finance function across new and ongoing projects
- Providing oversight of the purchase ledger function and ensuring strong system controls
- Ensuring financial records are accurate, secure, compliant, and supported by efficient, regularly reviewed processes
- Partnering with internal stakeholders to deliver high-quality financial information and insights for decision-making
- Contributing to the development of a data-driven, modern finance team
- Implementing and streamlining financial policies and procedures
- Deputising for senior finance leadership when required
- Providing financial insight and support to senior management colleagues
What We’re Looking For:
- Fully qualified accountant (ACCA, CIMA, CPFA, ICAEW or equivalent)
- Experience in preparing long-term financial plans
- Strong Treasury Management background
- Excellent understanding of accounting principles, regulations, and tax matters
- Proven experience improving financial processes and systems
- Proficient with accounting software and advanced Excel skills
- Confident working with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders
- Experienced team manager able to inspire, mentor, and drive performance
- Strong analytical, strategic and problem-solving abilities
- A collaborative, open, and accountable approach
