Are you an experienced Corporate Tax professional looking to broaden your advisory exposure and take the next step in your career? Carrington Wood is delighted to be partnering with a highly respected professional services firm to recruit a Corporate Tax Senior / Assistant Manager for their growing Bristol office. This is an excellent opportunity for someone currently working within a corporate tax compliance role who is keen to develop their advisory experience across a diverse portfolio of clients, ranging from owner-managed businesses through to large corporate groups. You'll gain exposure to specialist projects including share schemes, corporate transactions, complex tax advisory work and R&D tax relief, whilst working alongside an experienced and supportive tax team.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Preparing corporation tax computations and returns for a varied client portfolio
  • Supporting advisory assignments including capital allowances, R&D claims, corporate restructuring and tax due diligence projects
  • Assisting with transaction-related tax work
  • Conducting tax technical research and contributing to client projects
  • Developing specialist knowledge across areas such as share schemes and innovation reliefs
  • Supporting and mentoring junior team members
  • Managing multiple assignments to agreed deadlines and budgets
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients and professional contacts
  • Collaborating closely with audit and wider advisory teams
  • Supporting business development and networking activities

What We’re Looking For

  • Previous experience within a Corporate Tax role
  • ATT/CTA or ACA/CTA qualified (or equivalent), or part-qualified with relevant experience
  • Strong technical corporate tax knowledge
  • A desire to develop advisory expertise alongside compliance responsibilities
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong organisational and time management abilities
  • Commercial awareness and a client-focused approach
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
  • Experience using Alphatax would be advantageous but is not essential
