We are currently working with a leading engineering consultancy who are looking to appoint a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join their growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Mechanical Building Services Engineer to work on a diverse range of technically challenging projects across a variety of sectors. You will join a talented and supportive team, delivering high-quality engineering solutions while having the opportunity to develop your technical and leadership skills.

You will have a strong background in Mechanical Building Services, ideally with professional registration or a willingness to work towards Chartered status. You will have experience delivering projects and may have experience managing mechanical packages on larger schemes.

We are looking for a Senior Mechanical Engineer who:

  • Has strong experience in Mechanical Building Services design
  • Has experience across HVAC and Public Health systems
  • Takes ownership of projects and uses initiative to deliver effective engineering solutions
  • Is commercially aware and focused on client satisfaction
  • Has experience coordinating multidisciplinary design teams
  • Can mentor and support junior engineers and technicians
  • Holds a relevant engineering degree
  • Is Chartered, or actively working towards Chartered status
  • Has excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Can develop strong relationships with clients, contractors and other stakeholders

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and specify Mechanical Building Services systems in line with current standards, regulations and project requirements
  • Produce detailed design deliverables including drawings, specifications, calculations and technical reports
  • Undertake site surveys and provide support throughout the construction stage
  • Coordinate mechanical design with wider multidisciplinary teams
  • Liaise directly with clients, contractors and other project stakeholders
  • Contribute to tenders, bids, proposals, fee estimates and scopes of work
  • Support project delivery, including programme, cost, quality and client requirements
  • Take responsibility for mechanical services packages on small to medium-sized projects
  • Promote quality, compliance and engineering best practice across projects

Skills & Experience:

  • Relevant degree in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services Engineering
  • Membership of CIBSE, ideally working towards Chartered status
  • Proven experience in Mechanical Building Services Engineering
  • Strong HVAC and Public Health design experience
  • Experience producing technical specifications and detailed design information
  • Experience working within multidisciplinary design teams
  • Experience contributing to bids, tenders and proposals
  • Good understanding of the commercial aspects of projects
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Experience with Navisworks
  • Experience with NBS Create / Chorus
