A leading infrastructure and engineering contractor is looking for an experienced General Foreman to join its construction team on a key water project near Winchester. This is a long-term opportunity supporting the day-to-day delivery of civil engineering and construction activities on site. Due to the nature of the project, candidates must have previous experience working as a General Foreman or Site Supervisor within the UK water sector. Experience with either a Tier 1 or Tier 2 contractor will be considered, provided you have worked on projects associated with UK Water Authorities.
Key Responsibilities
- General management of construction and civil engineering activities
- Daily allocation of plant, labour and materials
- Coordination of site activities and subcontractors
- Managing the site workforce to ensure safe working practices
- Ensuring works are delivered with minimal environmental impact
- Ensuring deliveries are stored safely to protect staff, the public and site equipment
- Ensuring appropriate PPE is available and correctly used
- Assisting with the production and review of method statements
- Supporting site health, safety, quality and compliance requirements
Requirements
- Previous experience as a General Foreman or Site Supervisor
- Strong civil engineering / construction background
- Previous experience working on UK water projects
- Experience working with Tier 1 or Tier 2 contractors
- SSSTS/ SMSTS or CSCS Supervisor Card
