Initial 3-Month Contract (with potential to extend)

My Local Authority Client in Hampshire is looking to source an experienced Town Planner to work at either Senior or Officer level to join their Development Management team on an interim basis.

The Role:

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Development Management professional to support a busy Local Planning Authority during a period of demand. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a varied caseload of planning applications, providing professional planning advice, preparing reports and recommendations, and working closely with applicants, agents and internal stakeholders. You will need to be confident working independently, managing your own workload, and providing high-quality planning advice within a Local Authority environment. The role will involve undertaking site visits, therefore a full UK driving licence is essential.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working within a Local Planning Authority Development Management team
  • Strong experience managing and determining planning applications
  • Ability to work independently and manage a caseload effectively
  • Experience engaging with applicants, agents and key stakeholders
  • Full UK driving licence required for site visits

Working Arrangements:

The successful candidate will be required to attend the office once per week, with flexibility around the remaining working days. The role will predominantly be remote-based, with office attendance and site visits required as part of the position.
