We are a well-established civil and structural engineering consultancy based in Wigan, working across a diverse range of infrastructure, development, and regeneration projects throughout the UK. Due to continued growth, we are looking to appoint a Graduate Civil Engineer to join our friendly and collaborative team. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated graduate looking to develop their technical skills, gain hands-on project experience, and work towards professional chartership within a supportive consultancy environment.
The Role
As a Graduate Civil Engineer, you will work closely with senior engineers and project managers, supporting the delivery of civil engineering designs from concept through to construction. You will be involved in a wide variety of projects, gaining exposure to both technical and client-facing aspects of consultancy work. Key responsibilities will include:
- Assisting with the design of highways, drainage, and infrastructure schemes
- Producing calculations, drawings, and technical reports
- Supporting site investigations and attending site visits when required
- Liaising with internal teams, clients, contractors, and local authorities
- Ensuring designs comply with relevant standards and regulations
- Supporting senior engineers with project delivery and coordination
About You
We are keen to hear from enthusiastic graduates who are eager to learn and progress their careers in civil engineering. You will ideally have:
- A degree in Civil Engineering (BEng or MEng)
- A genuine interest in infrastructure and development projects
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- A proactive and positive attitude
- Basic knowledge of design standards (e.g. DMRB, Sewers for Adoption, or similar)
- Familiarity with AutoCAD and/or civil design software (desirable but not essential)
