Ready to step into a key role on a major civil engineering project? We're looking for a Site Engineer to support delivery on a large-scale infrastructure scheme involving earthworks, drainage, and roadworks. As a Site Engineer, you'll be responsible for the engineering control and day-to-day delivery of works on site, ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to specification.
Responsibilities
- Site setting out and maintaining accurate control records
- Understanding drawings and raising field change requests where required
- Requesting and managing Permits to Dig, including workforce briefings
- Supporting health, safety, and environmental compliance through inspections and task briefings
- Producing as-built records, maintaining site diaries, and keeping detailed documentation
- Managing QA processes, including raising non-conformities, attending inspections, and maintaining quality records
- Monitoring progress and contributing to 6-12 week lookahead programmes
- Measuring materials, tracking productivity, and supporting commercial reporting
- Mentoring and supporting junior/site engineers
You'll work closely with internal teams and subcontractors to ensure smooth and effective project delivery. This is a great opportunity to build on your civil engineering experience while developing leadership capability on a complex project.
What we're looking for
- Proven experience in earthworks, drainage, and roadworks
- Strong setting out skills using industry-standard equipment (GPS, EDM, level)
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and schedules
- Solid understanding of QA processes, inspections, and documentation
- Experience producing lookahead programmes (6-12 weeks)
- Knowledge of site safety systems, including Permit to Dig

- Full UK driving licence
