Are you an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor ready to take full commercial ownership of schemes within a growing regional division? You will be joining a well-established national Building and Civil Engineering contractor with strategically located regional offices across the UK. The Northern England Division, based at Walnut Tree Business Park in Lower Stretton, Warrington, is experiencing sustained growth through repeat client business and successful tenders in new sectors. You will be part of an established and collaborative division that prides itself on interdepartmental support and teamwork, playing a key role in strengthening the Commercial team.

In this Senior Quantity Surveyor position, you will be doing the following:

  • Collating and agreeing client applications.
  • Procuring subcontract works packages, including preparing and issuing enquiry documents.
  • Preparing and issuing subcontract orders incorporating main contract terms where applicable.
  • Certifying subcontract applications and issuing contractual notices in line with contract requirements.
  • Preparing Bills of Quantities for tendering and variations.
  • Advising site teams on contractual matters.
  • Assisting with preparation of delay notifications, ensuring correct contractual provisions are referenced.
  • Preparing and negotiating variations with client teams.
  • Collating and presenting monthly Commercial Reporting (CVR).
  • Producing and updating Cost versus Value Reports for self-delivered works.
  • Undertaking site measurements where required.

As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will be operating as the commercial project lead, managing cost and value control across your schemes and communicating confidently with both clients and subcontractors.

To be successful in this Senior Quantity Surveyor role, you will demonstrate:

  • Experience operating at Senior Quantity Surveyor level.
  • A proven track record as a commercial project lead.
  • Strong experience in cost and value control management.
  • Practical experience administering NEC forms of contract.
  • The ability to work in a self-sufficient and proactive manner.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • A Degree in Quantity Surveying from a recognised university.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel and Word.
  • A valid CSCS card.
  • A full UK driving licence.

Salary for this Senior Quantity Surveyor position is up to £75,000 per annum, dependent on experience.
