Carrington West are assisting a Local Authority in the West Midlands with their search for a Class 2 Registered Building Inspector (A-D or above) to join their Building Control team on an interim basis. This is an excellent opportunity for a registered professional to support a busy service, managing a varied caseload of projects while helping the authority maintain high standards of regulatory compliance and customer service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Carry out site inspections on a range of residential and commercial developments.
  • Assess plans and building works for compliance with Building Regulations and associated legislation.
  • Provide technical advice to developers, architects, contractors, and members of the public.
  • Prepare detailed inspection records and technical reports.
  • Support the delivery of a high-quality Building Control service.
  • Work in accordance with Building Safety Regulator requirements and professional standards.
  • Liaise effectively with internal departments and external stakeholders.

Requirements:

  • Registered Building Inspector status with the Building Safety Regulator.
  • Class 2A-D registration or above.
  • Previous Building Control experience within a Local Authority or Registered Building Control Approver environment.
  • Strong knowledge of Building Regulations, Building Act legislation, and current industry requirements.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Full UK driving licence preferred.
