A South London local authority is seeking a Temporary Accommodation Move On Officer to join its dedicated Housing team on an initial 6-month contract. This is a key frontline role focused on helping households move out of temporary accommodation and into secure, settled housing.

You will work directly with households in temporary accommodation to understand their individual move-on needs, identify and overcome barriers, and support them through the transition into suitable settled accommodation in line with legal housing duties.

A core part of the role involves working closely with Lettings Negotiators to ensure the right properties are identified and effectively matched to households, maximising the use of available housing stock and ensuring no properties go unused.

You will also play an important role in setting clear and realistic expectations for households around their move-on journey, helping them understand the most likely routes into settled accommodation and the actions required to achieve this.

In addition, you will signpost residents to relevant support services, including benefits advice, debt support, and wider welfare assistance, ensuring they are fully prepared to sustain their future tenancy.
