We are currently recruiting for a Site Engineer to join a major contractor on a project in Wiltshire. The scheme includes construction of reinforced concrete tanks, pipelines, ducting and associated civils works, forming part of wider AMP8 investment in the water sector.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Setting out for civils works including RC structures, pipelines, drainage and ducting
  • Producing and maintaining accurate as-built records
  • Carrying out level checks and ensuring works are constructed to the correct line and level
  • Supporting QA processes including inspections, ITPs and documentation
  • Identifying and resolving drawing discrepancies, design clashes and site issues
  • Working closely with the Site Manager, General Foreman and subcontractors
  • Assisting with short-term planning and coordination of works
  • Ensuring works are delivered in line with drawings, specifications and quality standards

Requirements

  • Strong setting out experience on heavy civils or infrastructure projects (essential)
  • Proven experience setting out RC structures, drainage, pipelines and associated civils works
  • Competent carrying out levelling activities, including use of dumpy levels and open/close level checks
  • Confident using Leica Total Stations and surveying equipment without supervision
  • Ability to interpret drawings, identify technical issues and resolve them independently
  • Experience producing accurate as-built records and QA documentation
  • Water sector experience preferred, although candidates from highways, rail or other major infrastructure projects will be considered
  • Strong communication skills and ability to coordinate effectively with site teams and subcontractors
  • Able to work independently and take ownership of engineering activities on site

  • SSSTS or SMSTS
  • Temporary Works Supervisor
  • First Aid

This role would suit an experienced Site Engineer who is confident working independently and can take full responsibility for setting out, levelling, quality assurance and technical problem-solving on site.
