This role supports a large-scale UK infrastructure programme within a rail systems environment. The client is currently responsible for delivering work across complex rail systems and associated infrastructure, including assets such as bridges, viaducts and electrification-related structures. The programme involves multi-disciplinary design integration, systems engineering activities and preparation for future testing and commissioning phases.
We are seeking a Structural Steelwork Engineer with experience in rail structures to support design and technical activities within a safety-critical rail environment. The role will work closely with systems, design and construction teams, providing structural engineering expertise across rail-related assets.
Key Responsibilities:- Design, assessment and coordination of structural steelwork for rail infrastructure
- Support design integration across multi-disciplinary rail systems
- Interface with system safety, requirements, RAM and configuration functions
- Provide technical support to construction and site activities as required
- Ensure compliance with relevant rail and structural standards
- Support technical assurance and design reviews
- Proven experience as a Structural Engineer on rail infrastructure projects
- Strong background in structural steelwork design and assessment
- Experience with rail structures such as gantries, portals, bridges or similar assets
- Familiarity with UK rail standards and assurance processes
