We are looking for a motivated Civil Engineer to join our growing consultancy team. Working on a diverse portfolio of residential, commercial, education and infrastructure projects across the UK, you will play a key role in delivering practical, sustainable and cost-effective engineering solutions from concept through to construction. This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer who enjoys technical challenges, working closely with clients and collaborating with multidisciplinary design teams to deliver high-quality projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed civil engineering designs for highways, drainage and external works.
- Design Sustainable Urban Drainage Systems (SuDS) and surface water management solutions.
- Produce adoptable road and sewer designs in accordance with relevant standards.
- Undertake flood risk assessments and develop site-specific drainage strategies.
- Prepare technical reports, calculations and design documentation.
- Liaise with clients, architects, contractors, local authorities and statutory bodies throughout project delivery.
- Support planning applications by identifying site constraints and developing practical engineering solutions.
- Use industry-standard software such as Civil 3D and drainage modelling packages to produce accurate designs.
- Attend project meetings and undertake occasional site visits.
Essential:
- Degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
- Experience in infrastructure, highways and drainage design.
- Knowledge of UK design standards, planning requirements and SuDS principles.
- Proficiency with Civil 3D, MicroDrainage/InfoDrainage or similar design software.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and work both independently and as part of a team.
- Full UK driving licence.
Desirable:
- Working towards or already Chartered (ICE or equivalent).
- Experience preparing Flood Risk Assessments.
- Knowledge of Section 38, Section 104 and Section 278 agreements.
- Experience using 3D modelling software for infrastructure design.
