A highly regarded, multi-disciplinary property consultancy with a strong presence across the South West is seeking an experienced Town Planning Consultant to join its established team in Truro. This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially minded planner who can hit the ground running, working across a diverse portfolio of rural, residential and mixed-use development projects.
The Role
You will join a well-established planning and development team providing expert advice to landowners, developers and private clients. The role will involve managing projects from initial appraisal through to delivery, working closely with in-house professionals across design, agency and rural services.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Preparing and submitting planning applications and appeals
- Providing strategic planning advice and development appraisals
- Managing client relationships and acting as a trusted advisor
- Negotiating with local authorities and key stakeholders
- Supporting site promotion, local plan representations and development strategies
- Coordinating multidisciplinary project teams
The team has a proven track record of delivering successful outcomes across a wide range of developments, from residential schemes to rural and agricultural projects.
About You
- MRTPI qualified (or working towards)
- Demonstrable experience in a planning consultancy or local authority setting
- Strong working knowledge of the UK planning system
- Commercial awareness and confidence in client-facing environments
- Ability to manage a varied workload independently from day one
Working Arrangements
This role requires a full-time presence in the Truro office, with the flexibility to work from home one day per week.
