Carrington West are recruiting for 2 experienced General Foremen / Supervisors to join a major water infrastructure project in Hampshire. The successful candidates will support the delivery of a significant clean water pipeline scheme between Winchester and Southampton, involving the installation of approximately 15km of iron pipeline. This is a long-term contract opportunity offering stability and the chance to work on a high-profile water infrastructure project.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise day-to-day site activities and site teams.
- Ensure works are delivered safely, efficiently and in accordance with programme requirements.
- Monitor compliance with health, safety and environmental standards.
- Coordinate subcontractors, operatives and plant on site.
- Oversee excavation, pipe installation, testing and commissioning activities.
- Ensure Temporary Works requirements are understood and implemented.
- Maintain site records and project documentation.
- Use project management systems including 4Projects and FieldView.
- Identify changes in site conditions and make informed decisions to maintain safety and programme delivery.
- Promote a positive safety culture and stop works where necessary if conditions or plans change.
Essential Requirements
- CSCS Card.
- EUSR Clean Water Card.
- SSSTS or SMSTS certification.
- Demonstrable experience working in a General Foreman, Supervisor or similar role within the UK water industry.
- Proven pipeline installation experience, particularly on large diameter clean water pipelines.
- Experience working on excavation, pipe installation, testing and associated civil engineering activities.
- Strong understanding of Temporary Works requirements.
- Up-to-date knowledge of current Health, Safety and Environmental legislation.
- Good communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with both site teams and senior management.
- Competent IT skills including Microsoft Office, 4Projects and FieldView.
