Are you an experienced Allocations Officer looking for your next contract opportunity within a local authority environment? We are recruiting for a skilled housing professional to join a Berkshire-based council on an initial 4-month contract.

This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in delivering an effective and compliant housing allocations service. You will provide expert advice and guidance on the Council's Allocations Scheme and Nominations Agreement, ensuring all housing legislation and regulatory requirements are consistently met.

You will manage housing register applications, assess eligibility, determine banding awards, and oversee the allocations process through to property matching. The role also involves direct matching for vulnerable groups, including applicants with medical needs, delayed discharge cases, under occupiers and homeless households.

Working closely with Housing Associations and internal teams, you will coordinate void and new-build property allocations while contributing to a wider housing solutions service.

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • Previous experience in housing allocations within a local authority or housing association
  • Strong working knowledge of housing legislation and allocations policies
  • Experience using NEC/Northgate, Civica or Jigsaw system
