Carrington West is recruiting for two experienced Site Managers to oversee a high-profile water infrastructure project in Central London.

  • Day Shift Site Manager (12-hour shifts)
  • Night Shift Site Manager (12-hour shifts)

Together, these positions will provide management coverage across a 24-hour operation.

Project Overview

This is a unique opportunity to manage the installation of a new water main and associated connections that will enhance the fire supply to one of the UK's most recognisable and secure locations. Working in a busy city centre environment, you'll be responsible for coordinating works, managing stakeholders, and ensuring safe and efficient delivery throughout the project. The Project involves the installation of approximately 24 metres of new water main and associated connections within a heavily trafficked and pedestrianised area.

Project Scope

  • Site setup and traffic management coordination
  • Excavation and installation of a new water main
  • Managing tie‑ins to the existing network
  • Overseeing testing, commissioning and handover activities
  • Highway reinstatement and project close-out
  • Coordinating deliveries, subcontractors and day-to-day site operations

Qualifications

  • Previous experience as a Site Manager delivering utility or civil engineering projects
  • Experience managing excavation and pipeline installation works
  • Strong stakeholder and client-facing skills
  • The ability to coordinate multiple activities in a busy and challenging environment
  • A proactive approach to health, safety and quality
  • SMSTS and relevant utility or civils experience

Working Pattern

  • 8 to 12-week contract
  • Based in Central London
  • 12-hour shifts
  • Positions available on both day and night shifts
  • Continuous 24-hour operation, six days per week
  • On-call support on Sundays when required
  • Start available for mid July
