Senior Traffic Engineer
We are recruiting on behalf of our client in London for an experienced Senior Traffic Engineer to join their Highways Services team on a contract basis.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver traffic and highway schemes from feasibility and concept through to implementation and completion.
- Prepare detailed designs, AutoCAD drawings, and technical reports.
- Raise works orders and manage project delivery against programme targets.
- Supervise contractors and consultants on site to ensure compliance with design and safety requirements.
- Manage project budgets, process invoices, and monitor financial performance.
- Ensure schemes meet legislative requirements, TfL standards, and local authority policies.
- Support delivery of Traffic, Parking, Transport, and Highway improvement programmes.
- Provide technical advice to internal stakeholders and external partners.
- Coordinate project activities and ensure timely completion of works.
About You – Essential Requirements
- Previous experience working as a Traffic Engineer / Senior Traffic Engineer within a UK Local Authority or consultancy environment.
- Experience delivering traffic and highway schemes from design through to construction.
- Strong proficiency in AutoCAD and preparation of technical drawings and reports.
- Good knowledge of UK highway design standards, TSRGD, and TfL guidance.
- Experience managing contractors and supervising on-site works.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet strict programme deadlines.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
You must have Traffic / Parking experience to be considered for this position.
