My client is a leading contractor delivering a significant programme of works as part of the AMP8 investment cycle across Thames Water's infrastructure network. Due to continued growth, they are looking to strengthen their engineering team with an experienced Senior Project Engineer who can provide technical oversight, engineering assurance and delivery support across a range of complex Clean and Wastewater projects.
This is a key role within the project delivery function, working closely with Project Managers, Construction Teams, Design Partners, Supply Chain and Client stakeholders to ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently and to the required technical standards.

Key responsibilities include:
- Providing technical assurance and engineering governance across multiple concurrent water and wastewater projects
- Supporting the delivery of complex multi-million-pound infrastructure schemes from concept through to completion
- Reviewing engineering proposals, designs and technical submissions, providing challenge and guidance where required
- Working collaboratively with design teams, construction teams, suppliers and subcontractors to ensure successful project delivery
- Ensuring engineering solutions meet client specifications, regulatory requirements and operational needs
- Supporting risk management, technical reviews and project decision-making throughout the lifecycle of schemes
- Managing interfaces between engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning activities
- Supporting project teams with technical problem solving and resolution of engineering issues
- Attending design reviews, progress meetings and stakeholder discussions with internal and external teams
- Ensuring compliance with health, safety, quality and environmental standards
- Supporting commissioning activities, testing, handover documentation and operational readiness
- Assisting with programme, cost and change management, including technical input into variations and commercial decisions

- Proven experience delivering engineering projects within the UK Water/Wastewater sector
- Experience working on complex infrastructure projects, ideally within a regulated environment
- Strong understanding of project delivery from design through construction and commissioning
- Ability to review and challenge technical information and engineering solutions
- Experience working with contractors, consultants, clients and supply chain partners
- A strong understanding of engineering standards, assurance processes and project governance
