Are you a driven sales professional who thrives on winning new business and solving complex customer challenges? Do you enjoy getting to the root of manufacturing problems and delivering tailored, value‑led solutions rather than selling off‑the‑shelf products?

Salary: £40,000 – £65,000 depending on experience

Location: Attending Southampton office twice a month, travelling & meeting clients 4 days a week

I am exclusively partnering with a well‑established manufacturing business that has recently completed a full strategic review and is now entering a growth phase. As part of this, they are looking to appoint a Sales Engineer to drive new business and deliver technical, solution‑led sales across the engineering/manufacturing sector. This is a client‑facing role focused on identifying opportunities, understanding complex customer requirements and delivering tailored solutions. You will be meeting customers, building relationships and working closely with internal technical teams to bring projects to life.

Essential Requirements
  • Minimum 5 years experience in a sales role
  • Proven track record of winning new business within a manufacturing context
  • Experience selling into manufacturing, or working for a manufacturing business
  • Strong understanding of engineering processes and technical requirements
  • Experience using a CRM system as a core part of the sales process
  • Demonstrable formal sales training and understanding of structured sales methodologies
  • An existing network of contacts within relevant supply chains
Nice to have
  • Knowledge of elastomers, rubber or sealing technologies
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings or CAD models
  • Engineering or technical qualification
  • Experience working with customers in mechanical or general engineering sectors
  • Awareness of FMCG manufacturing processes
