Are you ready to take the next step in your engineering career and play a key role in delivering complex, high-value infrastructure projects? We are seeking a driven and capable Project Engineer to support the successful delivery of Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation, Control and Automation (MEICA) projects across the UK. As a Project Engineer, you will be involved throughout the full project lifecycle, from initial planning and design coordination through to construction, commissioning and handover. Working closely with Project Managers, site teams, subcontractors and clients, you will help ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget and to the highest quality standards. This role offers a varied mix of technical, commercial and operational responsibilities, providing excellent opportunities for career development within a fast-paced engineering environment. Please note: this is predominantly a site-based role and will require travel to project locations across the UK.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the delivery of MEICA projects from inception through to completion.
- Assist with project planning, programming and resource coordination.
- Ensure works are delivered safely and in accordance with project specifications, standards and procedures.
- Coordinate engineering activities between design teams, suppliers, subcontractors and site personnel.
- Monitor project progress, identifying and resolving technical and operational issues.
- Support procurement activities, including the management of suppliers and subcontractors.
- Assist with cost control, forecasting and commercial reporting.
- Prepare and maintain project documentation, including technical submissions, risk assessments, method statements and progress reports.
- Support commissioning, testing and handover activities.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with clients and key stakeholders.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and best practice across project delivery teams.
What We're Looking For
- Proven experience delivering MEICA or engineering projects within the water, wastewater or wider utilities sector.
- Strong understanding of project delivery, including programme management, procurement, commercial awareness and contract administration.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- Ability to coordinate multiple stakeholders and manage competing priorities.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Relevant engineering qualification in Mechanical, Electrical or Civil Engineering.
- Full UK Driving Licence and willingness to travel as required.

- Knowledge and experience of NEC contracts.
- Understanding of relevant construction and health & safety legislation.
- EUSR Water Hygiene.
- SMSTS.
- CSCS Card.
- First Aid at Work.
- Temporary Works Supervisor qualification.
