Are you an experienced Programme Manager with a background in Local Government Reorganisation? An opportunity has arisen for a Programme Manager to join a busy local authority and lead the delivery of complex LGR workstreams. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring new council arrangements are implemented successfully, safely and in line with agreed timescales, governance and outcomes.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Lead the planning and delivery of one or more LGR workstreams, ensuring agreed outcomes and milestones are achieved.
- Manage delivery activities against scope, schedule, budget and deadlines.
- Coordinate multiple stakeholders, service areas and dependencies to support successful programme delivery.
- Develop and maintain delivery plans, risks, issues, assumptions and dependencies, escalating where required.
- Build effective relationships with senior leaders, service representatives and subject matter experts.
- Support the preparation of decision papers, reports and updates for programme governance forums.
- Ensure appropriate governance, assurance and programme management standards are consistently applied.
- Support services in preparing for Vesting Day and maintaining service continuity.
- Contribute to a collaborative and solution-focused programme culture to support the transition to the new councils.
Previous experience delivering complex programmes or workstreams within Local Government is essential for this role. Experience of Local Government Reorganisation would be highly desirable.
