Principal Engineer Highways
We are currently working with a busy London borough with their search for a Principal Engineer in their Highways design team.
What you will be doing:
- Carry out the duties of a Principal Engineer in the design and delivery of a wide range of highways design, traffic engineering and traffic management projects.
- Act as a technical lead and project manager for a portfolio of schemes and programmes of work, including the leadership and management of a small team.
- Work closely with the Highways Contracts & Delivery team to ensure the deliverability, value for money and feasibility of schemes.
- Manage the whole delivery process for schemes, from inception through to construction, in close collaboration with contractors and highways contracts management officers.
- Ensure early contractor involvement in the delivery of schemes and best value engineering solutions.
- Respond to various customer enquiries, investigating complaints and providing expert, high-quality advice and reports relating to highways and traffic issues.
Previous experience in Highways is essential for this role.
