Principal Design & Conservation Officer London £40-50 per hour guide (DOE - Guide) PART TIME - 28 hours per week (4 days) Initial 3 Month Contract Job Ref - 68630 My Local Authority Client in London is looking to source an experienced Principal Design & Conservation Officer to provide specialist conservation and design advice within their Strategic Planning team. This is a senior role supporting the delivery of high-quality conservation outcomes across the borough, with responsibility for advising on complex heritage matters, listed buildings, conservation areas, and major development and regeneration schemes. The successful candidate will provide expert conservation advice to Development Management teams, developers and stakeholders, lead on complex applications, support heritage strategies and conservation projects, and provide guidance and mentoring to more junior officers. The role will suit an experienced conservation professional with a strong background in historic buildings, heritage policy, design advice and working on complex planning matters. Experience liaising with organisations such as Historic England, managing conservation projects, and presenting at hearings or inquiries would be highly advantageous. Hybrid working is offered, although attendance for meetings, site visits and stakeholder discussions will be required when necessary.
