Role Overview: My client is looking to appoint a Site Agent to support the delivery of a major rail infrastructure project in Havant. The project involves the complete replacement of an existing pedestrian footbridge, including demolition of the current steel structure, piling, reinforced concrete foundations, installation of a new steel bridge structure and associated civils works.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a small and dedicated project team, playing a key role in delivering a significant local infrastructure scheme from early works through to completion.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing site delivery, coordinating resources, ensuring works are completed safely and efficiently, and maintaining high standards of quality within a live rail environment.

The role would suit an experienced Site Agent with a technical or engineering background who has delivered rail structures, bridge replacement or heavy civils projects and is looking for a stable permanent role with a strong regional presence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage day-to-day site operations and coordinate site teams, subcontractors and suppliers
  • Oversee the delivery of bridge demolition, piling, reinforced concrete foundations and structural installation works
  • Ensure all works are delivered safely, on programme and in line with project requirements
  • Manage quality processes, inspections, documentation and site records
  • Support planning and coordination of construction activities
  • Work closely with the Project Manager, Site Engineer and wider delivery team
  • Maintain strong relationships with clients, stakeholders and project partners

Essential requirements:

  • Previous experience working as a Site Agent within a rail environment
  • Experience delivering structural works, bridges, or steel structures, ideally within the rail industry
  • Valid PTS certification
  • Experience managing site teams and subcontractors
  • Technical or engineering background preferred, although strong practical experience will be considered
  • Candidates local to the Portsmouth area are highly desirable

This is an excellent opportunity to join a leading infrastructure contractor and work on a high-profile local rail project, with potential future opportunities across the region.
