An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join a well-established Highways Infrastructure team delivering local authority civil engineering projects across the North West and Yorkshire regions.

This is a key commercial role, supporting the successful delivery of schemes while ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, and within budget. You'll work closely with operational and engineering teams, managing commercial performance and maintaining strong client and stakeholder relationships.

Key Responsibilities

  • Promote and ensure a safe working environment
  • Produce and negotiate subcontract documentation (terms, pricing, and programmes)
  • Manage subcontract works packages, including interim assessments and change management
  • Issue and manage all contractual notices to Clients and Subcontractors in line with contract requirements
  • Oversee and manage Compensation Event Quotations and change control processes
  • Produce, submit, and agree monthly applications in accordance with contract terms
  • Maintain accurate site records in collaboration with operational teams
  • Prepare detailed monthly reports, Cost Value Reconciliations (CVR), and manage cost plans including expenditure tracking and forecasting

About You

  • Strong working knowledge of NEC contracts
  • Experience delivering large infrastructure schemes or multiple smaller civil engineering projects
  • Proficient in Excel, Word, and commercial systems such as CEMAR and Oracle
  • Relevant degree (or equivalent experience) within a commercial or construction discipline
  • CSCS card (appropriate level)
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills
  • Professional qualification (MCIOB or MRICS) desirable, ideally working towards full membership
