My client is looking for an experienced Planning Officer to join their Development Management team on an interim basis. This role will focus on supporting the validation team by tackling application backlogs, advising on validation requirements, and improving internal processes to support a more efficient and customer-focused planning service.

Role Specific

  • Experience working within a Local Authority Development Management team is essential
  • Strong understanding of planning application validation requirements and processes
  • Experience assessing planning submissions against national and local validation requirements
  • Ability to review and improve existing validation procedures and create new process guidance
  • Experience advising planning officers, validation teams and applicants on planning requirements
  • Strong knowledge of planning legislation, policy and development management procedures
  • Opportunity to support service improvement initiatives and help streamline planning processes across the authority
