The role and responsibilities
In this Site Engineer - Highways position, you will support the delivery of highways construction works and assist the wider engineering team with site coordination and technical support. You will be doing the following:
- Carrying out setting out for highways construction works
- Ensuring works are delivered in accordance with drawings and specifications
- Supporting the site team with daily engineering activities
- Checking and reviewing technical drawings and documentation
- Maintaining accurate site records and quality documentation
- Assisting with the coordination of subcontractors and site teams
- Monitoring progress and helping ensure works remain on programme
- Supporting health, safety and quality standards on site
Must have skills and experience
To be successful in this Site Engineer - Highways role, you will ideally have:
- Previous experience working as a Site Engineer within highways or civil engineering
- Experience working on National Highways or major highways infrastructure projects
- Knowledge of highways construction methods and standards
- Experience with setting out and surveying equipment
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- A relevant qualification in Civil Engineering or similar
- CSCS card (or equivalent)
