What you will be doing day to day: As a Health & Safety Advisor, you will be embedded within the project team and trusted as the go-to safety professional on site. Your responsibilities will include:
- Advising site and project teams on all Health & Safety matters across a major highways project
- Carrying out site inspections, audits and risk assessments, ensuring compliance with HSG, CDM and company standards
- Supporting accident and near-miss investigations and implementing corrective actions
- Delivering toolbox talks, briefings and safety inductions
- Monitoring subcontractor compliance and promoting a positive, proactive safety culture
- Working closely with project management to drive continuous improvement in Health & Safety performance
What you will need to bring: To succeed, you will ideally have:
- Proven experience within highways, infrastructure or civil engineering
- A NEBOSH General or Construction Certificate (or equivalent)
- A strong understanding of CDM Regulations and highways safety standards
- Confidence communicating with site teams at all levels
- A proactive, solutions-focused approach to Health & Safety
