An opportunity has arisen for a Passenger Operations Supervisor with experience in transport operations, staff management and compliance monitoring to join a busy Passenger Transport team within a Local Authority environment. This role is primarily responsible for overseeing the day-to-day delivery of managed passenger transport services, ensuring operational efficiency, safeguarding compliance and high service standards across the network. The successful candidate will manage Drivers and Passenger Assistants directly while supporting service improvements and operational performance across the department.

Working within the Transport Services team your main duties include:

  • Managing and supervising Drivers and Passenger Assistants across the passenger transport operation
  • Monitoring operational performance and ensuring passenger journeys are delivered safely and efficiently
  • Carrying out vehicle spot checks to ensure legal and safety compliance requirements are met
  • Ensuring staff compliance with Enhanced DBS checks, Driver CPC, MiDAS, PAT's and other mandatory training requirements
  • Assisting with the delivery and coordination of staff training, development and risk management procedures
  • Liaising with internal departments, schools, parents/guardians and stakeholders regarding passenger transport requirements
  • Producing operational, financial and performance reports for senior management and stakeholders
  • Assisting with budget monitoring, savings plans and resource management
  • Managing staff performance, sickness monitoring, recruitment and team communication
  • Supporting compliance with road traffic legislation, safeguarding procedures and health & safety regulations
  • Providing operational cover within the Passenger Operations office on a rota basis between 6:30am and 6:00pm

Previous experience within Passenger Transport, Fleet Operations, Logistics or Transport Coordination is essential for this role. Experience within a Local Authority or public sector environment would also be beneficial.
