The Role
We are looking for a dedicated Parking Operations Manager to oversee and improve the enforcement operations across the borough. Based primarily in the office, you will play a key role in shaping policy, leading performance, and ensuring the council's services run smoothly and effectively.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage all aspects of parking and moving traffic enforcement operations
- Oversee staffing rotas, shift arrangements, and deployment plans for maximum efficiency
- Monitor and review staff performance and training needs
- Ensure compliance with traffic regulations and enforcement standards
- Develop and implement enforcement policies and service improvement plans
- Supervise a team of team leaders and supervisors (4 direct reports)
- Support school crossing patrol management in line with Health & Safety requirements
What We Are Looking For
- Proven experience in operational management within parking enforcement
- Strong leadership and people-management skills, including handling performance and conduct issues
- Sound knowledge of parking legislation and best practices
- Experience in managing budgets, procurement, and enforcement equipment
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to handle challenging situations professionally
- City & Guilds (or equivalent) in Team Leadership/Supervision - or willingness to gain this within 6 months
- A clean driving licence and the flexibility to work outside standard hours when required
Previous experience in Parking is essential for this role.
