This is an excellent opportunity for a housing professional with strong knowledge of homelessness legislation and prevention to play a key role in delivering high-quality housing advice and statutory homelessness services.

Working within a supportive Housing Solutions team, you will manage a varied caseload, helping individuals and families prevent or relieve homelessness while ensuring the Council meets its statutory obligations under current housing legislation.

What You'll Do as a Housing Solutions Officer:

  • Manage a caseload of customers who are homeless or threatened with homelessness, delivering advice and housing solutions.
  • Carry out assessments under the Homelessness Reduction Act 2017 and develop Personal Housing Plans tailored to individual needs.
  • Work proactively to prevent homelessness by identifying suitable housing options and supporting customers to sustain accommodation.
  • Liaise with landlords, letting agents, partner agencies and internal teams to secure appropriate housing solutions.
  • Maintain accurate case records, produce reports and ensure compliance with housing legislation, policies and performance standards.

What You'll Need as a Housing Solutions Officer:

  • Previous experience working within a Housing Solutions, Homelessness or Housing Options service.
  • Strong knowledge of the Housing Act 1996, Homelessness Act 2002 and the Homelessness Reduction Act 2017.
  • Experience managing complex casework and delivering excellent customer-focused services.
  • Ability to work effectively with a range of stakeholders, including partner agencies, landlords and support organisations.
  • Excellent organisational, communication and IT skills with the ability to prioritise a busy workload.
