Are you a Graduate Mechanical Engineer looking to start your career within the building services sector? We are currently working with a leading Building Services Consultancy who are looking to appoint a Graduate Mechanical Design Engineer to join their growing Nottingham team.

This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated graduate to gain hands-on experience working on a variety of exciting projects across sectors including commercial, healthcare, education, residential and industrial developments. The Role

As a Graduate Mechanical Design Engineer, you will support the delivery of high-quality mechanical building services designs from concept through to completion. You will gain exposure to all aspects of the design process, including calculations, drawings, specifications, coordination and client interaction.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting mechanical design projects across a range of sectors
  • Producing technical drawings and design documentation
  • Assisting with mechanical calculations and system design
  • Supporting the preparation of specifications and reports
  • Working collaboratively with electrical engineers, architects and other design consultants
  • Attending project meetings and contributing to design discussions
  • Assisting with site surveys, inspections and project delivery
  • Developing knowledge of sustainable and low-carbon engineering solutions

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A degree in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services Engineering or a related discipline
  • A genuine interest in mechanical building services design
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Good communication and teamwork abilities
  • A willingness to learn and develop within the industry
  • Experience with design software such as Revit, AutoCAD, IES, Hevacomp, Amtech or similar would be advantageous
