We are seeking an experienced professional for a contract opportunity supporting a portfolio of high-profile projects across the UK. This is an excellent opportunity to work within a collaborative, multi-disciplinary environment, leading the delivery of architectural solutions from feasibility through to construction across a range of complex and technically demanding schemes.

The Opportunity

As a Senior Architect, you will play a key role in leading architectural design and project delivery across a diverse project portfolio, including defence and secure-sector developments. You will work closely with clients, consultants, contractors, and stakeholder teams to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality and compliance.

Location - Nottingham

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead architectural projects ranging from approximately £300k to £10m in value.
  • Deliver projects within highly regulated and secure environments.
  • Interpret complex client briefs and develop strategic design solutions.
  • Act as Lead Consultant, coordinating multidisciplinary teams and external stakeholders.
  • Produce site appraisals, feasibility studies, planning submissions, and technical reports.
  • Develop detailed design packages for tender and construction.
  • Manage tender processes, value engineering exercises, and post-tender reviews.
  • Undertake Project Manager and Contract Administrator responsibilities where required.
  • Ensure compliance with UK Building Regulations and sector-specific standards.
  • Liaise with contractors, suppliers, local authorities, and building control bodies.
  • Mentor junior team members and support knowledge sharing across project teams.
  • Contribute to client engagement, business development activities, and proposal development.

Essential Requirements

  • RIBA Part III qualified Architect.
  • Demonstrable experience within defence, secure, or highly regulated project environments.
  • Strong project leadership and stakeholder management skills.
  • Proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD, with BIM experience advantageous.
  • Excellent design, technical detailing, and presentation capabilities.
  • Strong understanding of UK Building Regulations and NBS specifications.
  • Experience working within quality management procedures and sustainability frameworks.

Desirable Experience

  • Delivery of projects within Defence, Maritime, Infrastructure, or similar sectors.
  • Experience working within multidisciplinary consultancy environments.

Security Clearance

Due to the nature of the projects, candidates must hold current UK SC Clearance or be eligible and willing to obtain SC Clearance.
