I'm working with a leading highways contractor who is seeking an experienced Sub Agent to support the delivery phase of a major highways project in Northamptonshire. This role will suit a Sub Agent with strong site leadership, technical capability, and a proven background in managing highways and earthworks packages while ensuring works are delivered safely, on programme, and to specification.
The Role
- Support the Agent and Project Manager in the day-to-day delivery of highways works
- Manage site teams, engineers, and subcontractors to ensure safe and efficient construction
- Oversee highways and earthworks activities in line with specifications and programme
- Ensure implementation of RAMS, ITPs, and quality requirements
- Coordinate short-term planning including daily activities and look-ahead programmes
- Manage interfaces with design teams, clients, and stakeholders
- Monitor progress, quality, and safety, addressing issues proactively
- Support commercial and programme reporting as required
Essential Requirements
- Proven experience working as a Sub Agent or Senior Engineer on highways projects
- Strong background in highways and earthworks (essential)
- Experience managing site delivery, subcontractors, and engineering teams
- Sound understanding of health & safety, quality, and environmental controls
- Ability to read and interpret drawings and specifications
- SMSTS and CSCS (required)
