Housing Services Manager Northampton | Contract Rate: £40.00 per hour (Umbrella) IR35 Status: Inside IR35 Initial Contract Length: 3 months Extension Potential: Subject to requirements Working Hours: 37 hours per week Role Summary We are currently recruiting for an experienced Housing Services Manager to join a busy local authority housing team in Northampton on an initial 3-month contract. The successful candidate will be responsible for the operational management of housing services, overseeing tenancy management, rent collection, estate services, tenancy enforcement and tenant engagement while ensuring the delivery of high-quality, customer-focused services. What You Will Do as a Housing Services Manager ·Lead and manage housing management teams, overseeing tenancy and leasehold management, estate services, rent collection, arrears recovery and tenancy enforcement. ·Drive service performance and continuous improvement, ensuring housing services meet statutory requirements, regulatory standards, financial targets and customer satisfaction objectives. ·Oversee complex tenancy management matters, including anti-social behaviour, tenancy breaches, possession proceedings, safeguarding concerns and support for vulnerable residents. ·Manage housing income services, implementing effective rent collection and arrears prevention strategies while monitoring budgets, performance indicators and service delivery targets. ·Work closely with senior management, internal departments and external partners to develop housing strategies, improve tenant engagement and deliver operational transformation and service improvements. What You Will Need as a Housing Services Manager ·Extensive experience in social housing management, ideally within a local authority or registered housing provider, with a strong understanding of tenancy management, estate services and housing income. ·At least 5 years' experience managing staff teams, with proven leadership, performance management, staff development and change management skills. ·Strong working knowledge of housing legislation, regulatory requirements, tenancy enforcement, rent arrears recovery and relevant housing management procedures. ·Experience managing budgets, monitoring service performance, implementing improvement plans and delivering effective operational housing services. ·Relevant housing qualifications and professional membership, alongside excellent communication, stakeholder management and problem-solving skills. A full driving licence, access to a vehicle and willingness to participate in an out-of-hours on-call rota are also required. What's on Offer ·£40.00 per hour (Umbrella, Inside IR35) - competitive contract rate. ·Initial 3-month contract with potential for extension, subject to service requirements. ·37 hours per week, working within a local authority housing management service in Northampton.
