Are you an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer working in the Building Services industry? Interested in working on large scale projects with a globally renowned consultancy? A multidisciplinary consultancy are seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to join their practice in Birmingham. Working across a variety of sectors and large infrastructure projects, this role will give you the opportunity to work as part of a multidisciplinary team on prestigious and famous projects across a wide portfolio of clients. The company have an impressive track record of career development and due to the nature of project work available, chartership applications are fully supported and endorsed by management.

Responsibilities:

  • Carry out the production of detailed calculations using industry standard digital tools, including HVAC, Boilers/Plant, Heat Pumps and water supply.
  • Representing the business at meetings with clients and contractors.
  • Site surveys, inspections and monitor site works.
  • Managing elements of project delivery.

Requirements:

  • Degree or equivalent qualification in Building Services or Mechanical Engineering.
  • Experience working on a variety of design projects.
  • Experience working in a design consultancy or contractor design environment is essential.
  • Experience of building physics including overheating analysis and compliance calculations using IES.
  • Have a detailed knowledge of appropriate technical standards including BS7671.

The business offer a fully agile working arrangement so there is little need to visit the office, however this remains open to all colleagues who wish to work from an office.
