Are you a Senior Project Engineer with extensive experience across OLE or third rail infrastructure? Do you have a strong background managing engineering assurance, construction compliance and technical delivery on major rail projects?
Contract Length: 8 Months
Rate: £550-£600/day Umbrella (Inside IR35)
Location: Manchester - 3 days onsite per week
This is an excellent opportunity to join a client organisation on a high-profile national programme, supporting the safe and compliant delivery of critical OLE infrastructure works across the rail network.
If you have a proven track record delivering engineering assurance on major rail projects and are confident overseeing design, construction, testing and commissioning activities within a safety-critical environment, this role is for you.
As the Senior Project Engineer, you will lead and manage the application of engineering standards across design and construction activities, ensuring all projects comply with legislation, Railway Group Standards and Network Rail company standards. You will also monitor the competence of engineering staff and contractors across the programme, ensuring appropriate governance and technical assurance is maintained throughout project delivery.
As part of the wider engineering assurance function, you will monitor compliance across projects, advise programme teams on construction, testing, commissioning and site supervision activities, and undertake reviews and audits of contractor design, safety, quality and management systems.
Essential:- Significant experience within OLE and/or third rail disciplines
- Strong background delivering rail construction and design projects across multi-disciplinary environments
- Experience managing engineering assurance, testing, commissioning and technical compliance
- Strong understanding of safety management, quality assurance and engineering governance
- Experience supporting safety cases and risk assessments
- Accident investigation experience
- Chartered Engineer status or equivalent
- Six Sigma Yellow Belt
- Experience undertaking contractor audits and compliance reviews
