Highways Supervisors - Drainage (Nights) Location: Various sites across North West Duration: Multiple roles covering the coming months Shifts: Nights Pay: Competitive rate (DOE), paid via CIS Carrington West are recruiting two Highways Supervisors on behalf of a leading civil engineering contractor. The roles are on night-shift schemes across the North West and the work is mainly drainage. There is a steady pipeline of work across the region over the coming months. These roles suit experienced supervisors who can run safe, productive shifts on live motorway and trunk road schemes. The Role ·Supervising night-shift drainage works, including carrier and filter drains, gullies, catchpits, manholes, chambers, outfalls and connections to existing systems ·Managing and directing site operatives, plant operators and subcontractors on each shift ·Holding pre-shift briefings, and briefing RAMS, task sheets and permits to the workforce ·Making sure works are carried out safely within the traffic management layout, and coordinating with the TM crew on set-up and take-down ·Managing permits to dig and permits for confined space entry, and checking for services before any excavation ·Planning and sequencing each shift so works are completed and the carriageway is handed back on time ·Checking that works meet the specification and drawings, working with the Site Engineer ·Completing shift reports, daily diaries, allocation sheets, inspection records and QA paperwork ·Carrying out site inspections and safety checks, and reporting incidents and near misses ·Organising plant, materials and waste removal for each shift ·Liaising with the Site Agent, Site Engineer and client representatives on progress and any issues Requirements ·Proven experience supervising highways or civil engineering works, ideally drainage-led ·Previous work on the National Highways network is strongly preferred ·SMSTS or SSSTS ·CSCS Supervisor card (or higher) ·Confined Space ticket (Medium Risk or above) ·First Aid at Work ·Willing and able to work night shifts ·Able to travel to different sites across the North West ·Full UK driving licence and own transport ·CAT & Genny Desirable ·Temporary Works Supervisor ·NVQ Level 3 or above in Highways / Construction Supervision ·Experience with National Highways permits and procedures If you're interested, apply now or contact Luke Clifford at Carrington West on (phone number removed) for a confidential conversation
