An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Highway Maintenance Engineer to come and join a busy client in the Manchester area on an initial 6 month contract basis.
The main duties of the experienced Highway Maintenance Engineer are:
- Manage and support highway maintenance programmes.
- Inspect and assess carriageways, footways, drainage and other highway assets.
- Investigate highway defects and identify appropriate remedial works.
- Prepare technical specifications, reports, estimates and schedules.
- Monitor contractors and ensure works are delivered safely and to specification.
- Carry out site inspections and quality checks.
- Provide technical advice on highway maintenance and safety.
- Manage customer and stakeholder enquiries.
- Support contract administration and budget monitoring.
- Ensure works comply with relevant legislation, standards and procedures.
The experienced Highway Maintenance Engineer will have:
- Experience in highway maintenance or highway engineering.
- HNC/HND/Degree in Civil Engineering, Highway Engineering or a related discipline.
- Good knowledge of highway maintenance standards and legislation.
- Experience inspecting highways and managing defects.
- Experience working with contractors and delivering maintenance schemes.
- Strong communication, organisational and problem-solving skills.
- Full UK driving licence.
