Flood Risk Engineer

Responsibilities
- Preparing Flood Risk Assessments for residential, commercial and mixed‑use developments
- Producing drainage strategies and surface water management plans in line with current guidance and best practice
- Undertaking hydraulic and hydrological assessments using industry‑standard software
- Liaising with the Environment Agency, Lead Local Flood Authorities and other consultees
- Supporting planning applications through technical input and responses to consultee comments
- Working closely with planners, engineers and other disciplines to deliver integrated solutions
Qualifications
- Experience in flood risk and drainage within a consultancy or local authority environment
- A solid understanding of UK flood risk policy, planning guidance and SuDS design
- Experience producing Flood Risk Assessments and drainage strategies
- Strong written communication skills with the ability to present technical information clearly
- A relevant degree or equivalent professional experience
- Progress towards, or interest in working towards, professional accreditation (desirable)
