An opportunity has arisen with a Greater Manchester Local Authority for a Building Control Technical Support Officer to join their Building Control service on a full-time contract until September. This role would suit someone with strong administrative and technical support experience, ideally within a Building Control or Local Authority environment (although this is not essential). You will play a key role in supporting a busy team with the coordination, processing and administration of Building Regulations applications.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide technical and administrative support to the Building Control service
- Assist with the processing of Building Regulations applications, correspondence and case administration
- Manage customer queries from contractors, residents and developers via phone and email
- Support Building Control Surveyors with document control, record keeping and workflow coordination
- Update internal systems, maintain accurate logs and ensure files are compliant and complete
- Support the wider team with reporting, scheduling and general service administration
- Previous experience within a Local Authority or public sector environment (desirable)
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced setting
- An understanding of Building Regulations and application processes (desirable)
- Confidence using case management systems and Microsoft Office packages
- Excellent communication skills and a customer-focused approach
