The Opportunity: We are currently working with a Local Authority in Lincolnshire who are seeking an experienced Class 2 Registered Building Inspector (RBI) to join their Building Control team on an initial 6-month contract. This is an excellent opportunity to work within a busy and professional Building Control service, supporting the delivery of statutory functions while operating in a competitive market.
Responsibilities:
- Carrying out Building Control functions in accordance with the Building Act and Building Regulations.
- Checking compliance and ensuring corrective actions are taken where standards are not met.
- Initiating and supporting enforcement action where required.
- Ensuring buildings meet regulatory standards relating to safety, sustainability, accessibility and design.
- Managing building control and associated administrative matters efficiently.
- Supporting the Building Control Manager and contributing to a strong performance culture.
- Delivering a high-quality, customer-focused service.
Regulatory Requirements: This post falls under the requirements of Part 2A of the Building Act 1984. You must be registered with the Building Safety Regulator as a Building Inspector (Class 2), in line with Sections 58A-58M of the Act.
What You'll Need:
- Class 2 Registered Building Inspector status.
- Proven experience working within Building Control, ideally within a local authority environment.
- Strong knowledge of Building Regulations and associated legislation.
- Confidence in managing compliance, enforcement and customer-facing responsibilities.
- Ability to work independently while contributing to wider team objectives.
