We are currently seeking an experienced Works Manager to support multiple civil engineering projects across Scotland. This is a key site-based role, overseeing the delivery of major infrastructure works from start to completion, working directly for a main contractor. Projects are a mix of schemes currently coming to completion and new projects starting, offering strong continuity of work for the right individual.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing day-to-day site operations across civil engineering projects
- Overseeing full road construction works, including earthworks, drainage and surfacing
- Coordinating and managing drainage and bridge construction activities
- Ensuring works are delivered safely, on programme and to specification
- Managing site teams, subcontractors and plant
- Liaising with engineers, project managers and clients
- Maintaining high standards of health & safety and quality control
Essential Experience
- Proven experience as a Works Manager or Senior Foreman on civil engineering projects
- Strong background in road works and full road construction
- Experience delivering drainage and bridge construction works
- Previous main contractor experience (highly beneficial)
- Ability to manage multiple work fronts and site teams
- Willingness to work on projects across Scotland
Qualifications
- SMSTS or SSSTS (essential)
- Valid UK driving licence
