We are currently seeking an experienced Works Manager to support multiple civil engineering projects across Scotland. This is a key site-based role, overseeing the delivery of major infrastructure works from start to completion, working directly for a main contractor. Projects are a mix of schemes currently coming to completion and new projects starting, offering strong continuity of work for the right individual.

Key Responsibilities

  • Managing day-to-day site operations across civil engineering projects
  • Overseeing full road construction works, including earthworks, drainage and surfacing
  • Coordinating and managing drainage and bridge construction activities
  • Ensuring works are delivered safely, on programme and to specification
  • Managing site teams, subcontractors and plant
  • Liaising with engineers, project managers and clients
  • Maintaining high standards of health & safety and quality control

Essential Experience

  • Proven experience as a Works Manager or Senior Foreman on civil engineering projects
  • Strong background in road works and full road construction
  • Experience delivering drainage and bridge construction works
  • Previous main contractor experience (highly beneficial)
  • Ability to manage multiple work fronts and site teams
  • Willingness to work on projects across Scotland

Qualifications

  • SMSTS or SSSTS (essential)
  • Valid UK driving licence
