We are looking for an experienced Strategic Lead - Divisional Assurance & Reporting to provide senior leadership across the assurance and reporting function within a Housing Options and Homelessness service. This is a Head of Service-level role, with responsibility for ensuring robust performance oversight, financial sustainability, effective reporting and continuous service improvement across the division.
The Role
- Lead the Divisional Assurance and Reporting function across Housing Options and Homelessness.
- Provide oversight of performance, assurance, reporting and financial sustainability across the division.
- Develop robust reporting arrangements that provide senior leadership with clear oversight of service performance, risks and outcomes.
- Drive continuous improvement and ensure learning is embedded across services.
- Support the delivery of value for money and sustainable housing services.
- Manage people and resources within the function.
- Work closely with the other Strategic Leads covering Homelessness & Rough Sleeping, Housing Register & Allocations and Temporary/Private Rented Accommodation.
- Work directly with the Director of Housing Options and Homelessness, Elected Members and senior stakeholders.
- Develop effective relationships with partners across local government and the wider housing sector.
Key Requirements
- Significant senior management experience within Housing Options, Homelessness or Housing Needs, operating at Head of Service or equivalent level.
- Strong experience of performance management, assurance and senior-level reporting within a complex housing service.
- Experience developing and overseeing performance frameworks, management information and governance arrangements.
- Strong understanding of financial management, service performance and value for money.
- Track record of driving service improvement using performance data and operational insight.
- Experience managing teams, resources and competing priorities across a complex service.
- Experience reporting to Directors, senior leadership and Elected Members.
